As I recall, it took me about the same length of time. But in my defense, the specifications have changed depending on the currently available closet dimensions.

Best to avoid discussing the toilet seat lid. I didn't think it was that complicated personally. If it's up and you want it down, lower it. If it's down and you want it up, raise it. No big deal, right? Hoo boy...

I usually try to be courteous, and put the seat down, but sometimes I forget. I remember having a conversation with my mother about it. Trying to make me feel guilty for leaving it up, she demanded that I answer her question "Have you ever fallen into a toilet?" To which I replied, "Yes, actually I have. And I learned very quickly to look down before I sit." She was at a loss for words. LOL. But, I do try to remember to put it down. Haha.
